Chandigarh University, Unnao: Country’s first AI based university

On 26 July 2025, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inaugurated the new campus of Chandigarh University in Unnao. This is the first private university in the country which is based on artificial intelligence (AI). This means that new technology will be used in studies and research here. Where is it, how big is it, and how much did it cost?

This new campus is on the Lucknow-Kanpur highway in Unnao. This place is in Parsandan village of Hasanganj tehsil. The campus is spread over 63.5 acres, i.e. very large and open. There are modern buildings, labs, and all the study facilities here.

The exact amount of money spent on this campus is not disclosed, but projects worth Rs 22,000 crore are underway in Unnao. Some of this money may also be for this university. Being near the highway, it is easy to travel here, and it is a very good place for students.

What is the meaning of AI University and what will be taught?

AI University means that artificial intelligence will be used in studies here. AI is a technology that gives computers the power to think and work like humans. For example, if a student is weak in a topic, then AI will teach him accordingly, so that he can understand it easily.

From the 2025-26 session, there will be 43 different courses here, such as:
